I’m Kate,

I’m a devoted seeker and explorer of life and experiences.

My journey has been full, winding, expansive, beautiful, messy and painfully beautiful, embracing all of it. And through all of it, I have come to believe that we are resilient beings, who have the capacity to heal, expand and transform many times over in life.

I work as a nourishment & intimacy guide who believes in the inner and outer connection of wellness and radiance. I believe there is a bridge that weaves all the layers: physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically together. It is our birthright to explore, connect, activate, heal and expand on these layers in our lives.

A glimpse into how The Intimacy Doula was born.

I’m the founder and owner of Sunshine Kate’s Wellness Center in New Jersey—an evolving sanctuary born from a deeply personal journey of healing, curiosity, and connection.

What began as a simple personal cooking service soon expanded into something far more holistic. I found myself called to movement, which naturally flowed into supporting women through hormonal shifts, and then deeper still into the study of trauma, the nervous system, human sexuality, and somatic-based therapies. This organic unfolding ultimately gave rise to The Intimacy Doula—a portal for deep embodiment, relational healing, and intimacy education.

My formal path began with a degree in whole-foods-based nutrition from Bastyr University in Seattle, where I also immersed myself in herbal medicine, meditation, shamanic practices, rock climbing, and a comprehensive exploration of the mind-body connection. Wanting to bridge the internal and external aspects of wellness, I became a licensed esthetician to better understand how skin health mirrors the inner workings of the body. But I knew my work wasn’t skin-deep. Something deeper was calling.

For years, I’ve devoted myself to studying sacred sexuality, somatic therapy, and empowerment coaching—fields that have helped me honor the emotional and energetic layers of the human experience.

Interestingly, before all of this—right after high school—I dreamed of becoming a travel agent. My mom and I had a heartfelt conversation that redirected me toward laying a solid educational foundation first. That decision proved pivotal. I didn't give up the dream; instead, I integrated it. Travel became a core part of my personal and professional life. My deep love for culture, food, and sensory experiences has taken me to Morocco, Spain, Bali, Greece, Italy, Australia, Iceland, Nicaragua, Mexico, Canada, and across the U.S.

Eventually, all these threads—nutrition, movement, sexuality, somatics, travel, and personal empowerment—wove together. Since 2015, I’ve been guiding wellness and sensory-awakening retreats both domestically and abroad, helping others return to the wisdom of their bodies and the richness of embodied living.

My Origin Story

I want to share a glimpse into my journey with you. There was a time when I really felt I was ‘doing it all right, and had control over my body’.. I was in my early 20’s finishing up my nutrition degree, following all that I was learning about eating and exercise..

But something was OFF and my body humbled me.

I was so, so exhausted. I was experiencing pain in my pelvis, sometimes to the point where I would pass out. If I bled with my menstrual cycle, it wasn’t a vibrant, healthy red color. I never knew when it was coming (which led me to feeling insecure around sex and feeling embarrassed if I started to bleed).

After hitting a very low point in my 20’s, where I gave into birth control for one month (and was jumping out of my skin), encouraged to go on Metformin ‘to solve it all’ and emotionally dis-regulated, I knew I needed to find a different path.

That’s when it all changed!

I started to really understand and embody the approach that our bodies are so much more than the physical, visceral forms. The emotional and energetic layers were completely neglected and were begging me to tune in!

I went from feeling so far removed from the communication within my body and was living in such a numb state of existence to now embodying an intimate bond within and using this as my inner compass. After integrating and exploring this for many years, I now work with people who desire to form a different relationship with themselves.

And here we meet today. I’ve rekindled and reconnected with all layers within. My body and I have a completely different and transformed relationship.

And I believe the same is possible for you.

My Approach:

WE WORK TOGETHER TO CONNECT BACK WITHIN, BACK TO THE BODY.

We explore building safety, trust and intimacy within your being.

We create a container for deeper trust, connection, healing, wisdom, pleasure to come alive from within yourself.

We unwind and rewire repression, trauma, shame, conditioning into aliveness, vitality, confidence, presence.

This is not about fixing. It’s about remembering who you are beneath it all—and letting that truth lead.

WHAT IS AN INTIMACY DOULA?

TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION, I’LL BREAK DOWN THE TWO WORDS INDIVIDUALLY.

What is Intimacy?

Intimacy is the art of cultivating deep, heartfelt connection—within ourselves and with others.
It’s a practice of allowing, revealing, and receiving.

True intimacy asks for courage and vulnerability. It invites us to meet the hidden parts of ourselves—the ones that may have never felt safe enough to be seen, felt, or expressed.

At its core, intimacy is in-to-me-you-see—a softening into authenticity, where nothing needs to be fixed, just witnessed.

It’s the ongoing process of birthing, shedding, releasing, forgiving, healing, expanding, and illuminating the parts of us that long to be known.
It’s the quiet power of being seen—and choosing to stay open.

What is a Doula?

A doula is a guide and ally—a grounded presence who walks beside you on the journey inward.

Whether you're moving through a beginning, an ending, or a threshold in between, a doula supports the sacred process of activating, healing, transforming, releasing, and birthing the most aligned, alive version of yourself.

Life moves in cycles—of life, death, and renewal. A doula honors these transitions and holds space for the deep work they require.

This is not about doing it for you. It’s about walking with you, witnessing you, and holding a safe, steady container so your own wisdom can rise and lead the way.

My Modalities

Whether you’re a woman or a man, our work together is highly personalized and rooted in presence, curiosity, and deep respect for your unique journey.

This work combines ancient wisdom with modern neurobiology, delivered within a high-integrity, high-frequency container that supports deep transformation, embodiment, and sustainable change.

My Values

Intimacy requires safety and transparency, and I honor my work and offerings through these foundational values:

  • I believe each of us is already whole and healed; my role is to hold space for reconnecting to that authentic truth.

  • I trust in insourcing—the innate wisdom and guidance that each individual naturally carries within.

  • I am a guide walking alongside my clients, never projecting my own path onto theirs.

  • I create and maintain a safe, welcoming container for exploration, healing, and growth.

  • I honor clear boundaries around my time, energy, and value—and respect the same for my clients.

  • I approach my work with unwavering integrity, and hold that same standard for the people I serve.

  • I am honest and transparent about how I can support people—and when a referral to another professional is in their best interest.

  • I clearly communicate the time, commitment, and effort required to reach your goals or desires.

WHO I LOVE WORKING WITH:

  • Women and men who are curious to deepen their connection and understanding of their bodies.

  • Women seeking to transition off birth control and reconnect with their natural cycles through whole-body support.

  • Women desiring a more loving, trusting, and confident relationship with their bodies.

  • Women interested in exploring and enhancing their sensuality and sexuality.

  • Women navigating hormonal changes related to fertility, perimenopause, and menopause.

  • Men seeking whole-body support for erectile health, including challenges like erectile dysfunction, disappointment, or premature ejaculation.

  • Men wanting to build confidence and a deeper connection to their sexuality.

  • Men looking to cultivate and consciously channel their sexual energy with integrity and intention.

This is Not the Right Fit If…

  • You’re not ready to take full accountability for your own journey and growth.

  • You’re expecting quick fixes or overnight transformation without sustained effort.

  • You’re unwilling to dedicate time for honest introspection and exploration.

  • You frequently cancel sessions at the last minute, as our time together is held intentionally and reserved specifically for you.

  • You are seeking touch-based support—my approach is completely hands-off, physical but clothing-on, and much of The Intimacy Doula’s work is offered virtually.

  • You do not value or wish to integrate holistic health and spiritual practices into a whole-body approach.
